23rd March 2010 - Zloty mortgages most popular in 2009
According to the Polish Bank Association (ZBP), banks in Poland signed approximately 52800 mortgage contracts in the fourth quarter of 2009 with a value of around 11bn PLN.
Around three quarters of the mortgages were taken in Polish zloty, 14% in Euro and 8% in Swiss francs.
A loan term of 30 years was most common, and the average mortgage amount value was approximately 200 000 PLN (or 50 000 EUR).
